Travels

Here's a glimpse of my travels that I've done (mostly solo) ✈️🌎 Want to learn more about my travels or want some tips? Email me at courtneythko@gmail.com!
Hong Kong
Highlights of my trip were the spectacular views from going on the Peak Tram to boarding the Star Ferry. I also took the cable car to Lantau Island to see the Big Buddha - everything seems so small when you're thousands of feet in the air!
Japan
Visited Osaka, Kyoto, and Tokyo on my Japan trip. Some of my favorite moments were hanging around the deer in Nara park, visiting some of the theme parks (Japanese theme parks are way better than American ones, btw!), and eating all the incredible Japanese food.
Belgium
I was only in Brussels for less than a day but I loved the city! The Grand Palace at night was so beautiful - the picture does not do it any justice at all! I got to experience drinking Belgian beer and eating Belgian chocolate, which were both amazing!
Hungary
I went to Budapest and had a lot of fun learning about the rich history. Did you know Budapest is split into two sides: Buda and Pest? Visited the Buda castle and Fisherman's Bastion and got to see the Pest side from high up. I also got to visit the beautiful cafes and take a boat across the Danube.
Austria
During my Austria trip, I went to Salzburg and Vienna. Absolutely loved all the architecture in Vienna. As someone who loves classical music, I definitely appreciated the Mozart landmarks and the symphony. When I went to Salzburg, I took the Sound of Music bus tour where we saw all the notable locations where the movie was shot. We also saw the famous opening scene location (pictured on the left!).
Korea
Korea was one of my favorite and most memorable trips! Not only did I stay in Seoul, but I also went to Jeju Island. In Jeju, I was able to go hiking on Hallasan mountain, try black pork (can only be found in Jeju), try Hallabong oranges, and see all the beautiful landscapes that Jeju had to offer. In Seoul, I visited Gyeongbokgung palace, Namsan tower, and went cafe hopping!
Switzerland
I was in Zurich for a day and I have to say it's such a beautiful city. Enjoyed my fill of cheese and Swiss chocolates. I wish I had more time to explore other cities - I will definitely have to come back next time!
Cyprus
I would describe Cyprus as a more lowkey Greece. The beaches were pristine, seafood was amazing, and the people were so nice! Got to see a lot of ruins and historical Greek mythology sites.
Canada
I've been to both Toronto and Vancouver. In Toronto, I saw the National museum, the tower, and ate so much good food! In Vancouver, I went to the suspension bridge and went on Grouse mountain which was really beautiful.
Croatia
This was my first ever solo trip! I went to Croatia for Ultra music festival but was lucky to visit the Krka waterfalls and visit the Diocletian's Palace.
Italy
I spent 5 weeks in Parma, Italy to study mirror neurons. During my time, I visited Florence, Rome, Vatican City, and Milan. Finally, my 3 years of Italian classes paid off. 😅 Had my fill of pasta, pizza, gelato, wine, and cheese, as well as all the beautiful landscapes and art that Italy had to offer. One of the hardest hikes I've done was at Cinque Terre (pictured on the left), but it was 100% worth it!
Germany
Spent a weekend in Berlin and I wasn't disappointed! Got to see the Berlin wall and try some German food (Currywurst is my favorite!).
France
No trip to France is complete without visiting Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, and the Louvre! Some of the highlights of the trip were eating French food and seeing all the art in the Louvre (I loveee art!).
